Women's ministry at Epworth United Methodist Church is carried out through the United Methodist Women (UMW). UMW is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, personal leadership and transformation.
The purpose of UMW is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ by means of fellowship and participation in the local and global ministries of the church. Anyone who commits herself to the UMW purpose may belong.
Epworth UMW has two circles (small groups), the Charlotte Herbert Circle which meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am, and the Carrie Bull Circle which meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 pm. Each of these circles gathers for devotion, prayer, planning, fellowship, good food, and fun.
The Epworth Men's Club has something for every man, young or old, working or retired, single or married, who wants to form friendships, grow in the Christian faith, and serve others. On the third Sunday of every month at 8:00 am, the Men's Club meets for breakfast, fellowship, planning, and devotion.
They perform outdoor grounds maintenance, and are always on call to help fund or carry out improvements around the church. They support Boy Scout Troop #88, and contribute to a variety of local and global missions.
The guiding purpose of the Epworth Men's Club is to assist one another to be in Chrisitan ministry at home, at work, in church, and in the world.
The people of Epworth United Methodist are in covenant to pray for one another and for others, for the community and for the world. We keep a list of parish prayer concerns for use in worship and by persons praying privately. We always keep in touch with current prayer requests via our Email Prayer Connection.
We also have a dedicated Prayer Team that meets every Wednesday morning (10:30 am) at the church to pray for personal parish concerns, the various ministries of the church, and local and global issues.
